They can find it difficult to interpret signs of aggression in other dogs. Its gentle nature makes the pug the perfect dog to keep with other pets.

Pugs are prone to overweight, which makes a balanced diet very important. Their special head-shape and short jaws (brachycephalic type) means they have narrow airways, which can lead to difficult breathing, with consequences for digestive transit. Feeding can be difficult, so pugs need a special kibble that is easy to take up and encourages chewing.
