Overview
Candiplas Cream by Medochemie is a topical antifungal and anti-inflammatory formulation designed for the treatment of fungal skin infections in cats and dogs. Combining the antifungal agent clotrimazole with the corticosteroid betamethasone dipropionate, this cream effectively relieves itching, inflammation, and discomfort associated with dermatophytosis and other superficial mycoses. It is suitable for use under veterinary supervision in companion animals with localized fungal skin conditions.

Uses / Indications
Candiplas Cream is indicated for:
- Dermatophytosis (ringworm)
- Candidiasis and yeast infections
- Inflamed fungal skin lesions
- Secondary bacterial infections associated with fungal dermatitis
- Localized allergic dermatitis with fungal involvement
Feeding Instructions / Dosage
Cats and Dogs:
- Clean the affected area thoroughly
- Apply a thin layer of cream to the lesion twice daily
- Gently massage into the skin
- Continue treatment for 7–14 days, or as directed by a veterinarian
- Prevent licking or grooming of treated area (use an Elizabethan collar if needed)
Possible Side Effects
- Mild skin irritation or burning at application site
- Allergic reactions (e.g. rash, swelling, pruritus)
- Skin thinning or delayed healing with prolonged corticosteroid use
- Rare: Systemic absorption leading to adrenal suppression (especially in small animals or large application areas)
Drug & Food Interactions
- Avoid concurrent use with other topical corticosteroids or antifungals unless prescribed
- No known food interactions
- Use with caution in animals receiving systemic immunosuppressants
Precautions
- For external use only
- Do not apply to deep wounds, punctures, or severe burns
- Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or ingestion
- Not recommended for pregnant or lactating animals unless advised by a veterinarian
- Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight
