SANIMED Anti-Struvite is a complete dietetic food for dogs, designed to support the dissolution of struvite stones.

Struvite is the formation of crystals that consist of magnesium, ammonium and phosphate in the urinary bladder. When these crystals clump together they can form bladder stones. Bladder stones are very painful and can be life-threatening in case of a urinary blockage. There are various types of crystals and bladder stones. Struvite is the most common type and affects dogs as well as cats.

Splitting and prevention of formation of struvite stones

Treatment of patients with stones is partly a compliance with a special diet that promotes the splitting of existing struvite crystals and stones and prevents their reappearance. The purpose of this regime is to change the composition of urine and reduce its pH to 6.5, which reduces the concentration of struvite components. The production of the SANIMED Anti-Struvite line reduces urine pH to 6.1. This pH helps prevent the formation, as well as the splitting of already accumulated struvites. In addition, SANIMED Anti-Struvite is characterized by a low content of magnesium, phosphorus and protein, which helps reduce the concentration of magnesium, ammonia and phosphate in the urine.
